System admin can add or remove users and also assign system management tasks and privileges to other users. In this way, multiple users are managing the system environment, which leads to an increase in the overall performance and keeps the system up-to-date.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are two methods by which you can add users to a Linux system: using the<\/span><b> command line<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or by using <\/span><b>GUI<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Graphical user interface).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"add-user-by-using-command-line\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add User by Using Command Line<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The command line comes with more options and has more functions than GUI-based user management. On top of that, the command line also has greater control and flexibility over the user management process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To add a new user, first open the terminal by pressing <\/span><b>CTRL+ALT+T<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Once the terminal window is up, write the following line of code to add a new user.<\/span><\/p>\n<pre><strong>sudo adduser tom<\/strong><\/pre>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this command, \u201c<\/span><b>sudo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d is to access admin privileges, \u201c<\/span><b>adduser<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d is the command to add a new user, and &#8220;<strong>tom<\/strong>&#8221; is the name of the new user account.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After writing this command, click enter, and the system might ask you for your password to create a new user. This helps when you have to grant access to a user for a specific period, and it also doesn&#8217;t burden your admin to maintain the account.
